Volume 1 Special Fete Edition – October 1958
The annual Fete consisted of a Procession, led by the Hyde Street Boys’ Band. Some of the events and stalls were: lucky dips, horticultural hall, cakes, clothing, comic books and sample bags.

Our second annual Fete raised just under £1000. This was a considerable amount of money at the time, translating to almost $30,000 in 2017 terms!
The schools in our community belong to us, they will be as good or as bad as we make them. Our children spend some of the best years of their lives in school, let them not be wasted ones, because we, as parents, have failed to set up an educational environment which is challenging.
